Planning Releases
Advice on taking delivery of the butterflies is provided at the time of your order confirmation, and full care and procedure instructions accompany our butterflies. Butterfly releases should be planned for outside in daylight hours, preferably no later than two hours before sunset. Temperatures should be above 60 degrees F. and the weather dry. A butterfly's first flight tends to be short, and since it is attracted to bright colors, it will instinctively fly toward colorful clothing, flowers, or bouquets.
Please note that because we care about our butterflies and the success of your event, releases are restricted to May - September.
NOTE: Due to U.S. Department of Agriculture and individual state regulations, we cannot ship butterflies west of the Rocky Mountains or outside the continental U.S.A.
To ensure availability of butterflies, we strongly suggest you place your order 30 days in advance. Before placing your order, we strongly advise you contact us to determine availability of butterflies for your event date. We accept Visa and MasterCard through Paypal, an online payment system. We also accept payment by money order or certified check. Personal check acceptance is conditional upon sufficient time being available for clearance of funds.
The Options
We offer three unique approaches to incorporating butterflies into your event.
A Guest Release allows guests to share in the wonder and love. Each butterfly is exercised, hand-fed and carefully placed in a beautiful, individualized box. Depending on location, they are either personally delivered, or shipped next-day air, ready to pass out to your guests for release at the chosen moment.
A Mass Release butterflies are placed into a decorative keepsake box (sold separately) and released at one time, by celebrants, during that special chosen moment.
A Display Release a personalized, decorative, netted display cage (sold separately) allows you to release the butterflies after they have been viewed and enjoyed by the guests.
Bookings
We are pleased to discuss options and design of personalized release boxes, and other items to make your day EXTRA special. Please note that because we care about our butterflies and the success of your event, releases are restricted to May - September. To avoid disappointment we recommend you place your order as far in advance as possible!
